I picked up a box of .451 185gr JHP XTP's yesterday just for grins and because I actually found JHP's.
Hodgdon doesn't specifically list the JHP XTP in 185 but lists a JSWC instead. Bullet depth of course will be different so using the COL data is not a good plan. I've seated the dummy rounds at 1.240 instead of the 1.135 that the JSWC data calls for.
Since I'll be loading these for self defense rounds I'll be more than likely running them up to around max but the problem I have is that my COL is going to be more than the JSWC data thereby corrupting the data. Anybody out there got a Hornady book that they can give me the data from? I'm on the road for the winter and not all my books came along with me since I didn't plan on experimenting.
