Ok,
Maybe I am missing something here but I have a question.

If you find a load for a 115gr JHP round, could you not also load a 115gr FMJ round using the same brand of powder, primer and grain load of powder?

I mean I know you do not want to go with a heavier load becuase it creates extra pressure and could destroy your weapon but if one uses the same grain, it shouldn't matter whether one is a hollow point and the other is a full metal jacket.

What say you all?

I'd figure that they could be loaded with the same data, and I'd look for data in all my sources. Then after I found a load "range" I'd go back to the light loads and work up. That way even though we're "probably right" you'll know for sure and be safe about it. :)

Really bad form to change bullets based soley on weight.
There a are other variables involved that can raise pressures.

1. Amount of bearing surface
2. Jacket thickness/hardness
3. Core hardness

You would need to rework the load.

I would not switch bullets without droppind down the powder charge and working up again, just seems to be the safe way to do things.
