I picked up some Hornady 68gr Match HPBT .224 bullets and Hornady 150gr SST .277 bullets. I plan to use the .224 bullets in a 20” AR (.223Wylde) and a heavy barrel Savage Axis (.223Rem). I’ll use the .277 bullets in my Weatherby Vanguard Deluxe(.270Win).

Does anyone have any experience with these bullets? If so, what are you preferred loads? I am trying to obtain maximum accuracy. I’ll use the .224 bullets on coyotes, groundhogs, and paper targets and the .277 on deer. Thanks.

What are the twist rate on the .223 guns?

I've got a 20" AR 223 Wylde, 1:8 twist. One of my pet loads is the Hornady 75 BTHP with 8208XBR. I have not done anything with the 68 bullet, though.

I'll try to provide some help with the .270 load.
While I have not reloaded that specific bullet, I've loaded other Hornady bullets with a secant ogive. I've found the most important thing in finding an accurate load is COAL. These bullets have cannelures and your first thought may be to seat the bullet to the cannelure. I've found that is too short in my rifle. I think it looks strange to have the cannelure sticking up above the case mouth, but that's what works for me. I played around with the COAL until I got the accuracy I wanted. Some more sophisticated reloaders will measure the distance from the lands to get their best COAL.
I really like Reloder 26 for 150 grain bullets in .270 Win, I think many powders will give great accuracy once you find the right COAL.
I hope this helps and I didn't just ramble about stuff you already knew.

When my Savage BVSS had its stock 1:9 barrel it shot the 69g SMKs really well using Varget. Didn’t find the same magic with the 68g Hornadys

Regarding the Hornady 68gr HPBT I use 24.5grs of WW 748, CCI#41 Primer Lake City /Federal brass.

My AR barrel is medium heavy zero free float , 1-8" twist, 5.56NATO chamber , mid length gas system and stainless steel.

Groups average 0.5" @ 100yds

my 1/9 twist AR with 69gr bthp is sub moa @100 yards using TAC powder , the good thing I have noticed with 223 is you can find a good load with many powders if you do a load work up
I have also had good luck in 223 with 8208, 748, cfe223. blc2 , and I plan on working with AR Comp next as I have found a sweet 308 load with AR Comp,
