Just got back into reloading rifles.

We are starting small with a 458 Winchester magnum.

I am looking for some good hard cast lead gas checked bullets from 300gr to 500gr.

Have shot some 510 gr factory ammo and I have some new brass.

Looking to go to lead because of cost.

Anyone reloading this caliber?

Thanks.

Yes. I use Trail Boss for mouse fart loads, AA 5744 for .45-70ish loads, and H322 (Cause I have plenty) for full loads.

Any particular question?

I load .458 WinMag with lead using SR4759 and Reloder7 at .45-70 trapdoor levels for fun shooting and low recoil. The faster twist of the .458 makes for great accuracy of 400-500 grain bullets at subsonic velocities. Gas Checks are not needed at these pressures. For a real hoot try 90 grains of FFg black powder under a cast slug---

About four years ago I picked these up at an estate sale. The 3 for 50¢ relates to this box that contained nine cartridges and two more full boxes of .243 Winchester.
The two on the right, in back, looks like they might be factory loads, due to the discoloration of the end of the cases, red sealant on the primers, and the only ones that show a cannula on the bullet.
Three are .375 H & H Magnum headstamps and the rest are .458 Winchester Magnum. All are loaded with .451 bullets, which I presume are 510gn.
I presume they are fairly old, from the $7.25 price.:) I would guess that the HMO marked on the box was the dealer's cost.
I just keep them in my "curiosity" box.
