I loaded up 30 rounds of 50 AE using my new RCBS steel die set.

The only issue I have with the completed rounds is that they have that odd coke bottle shape. You know, where the space inbetween the case head and the bullet appears to be slightly bowed inward.

Is that a problem or not?

Mr. Manley is correct. Very typical. It's just undersizing the case a bit. The next time you resize them, you might unscrew the sizer a few turns so that you're not sizing them all the way down to the bottom. This is what I do with all of my straight wall cases.

Ahh, good idea. I usually will set my sizing die so that the base of it just barely touches the top of the ram upstroke. Then I back it off a 1/4 turn. I shall back it off say 2 or so turns and see how that works.

Thanks...

I have the same issue with my Dillon 9mm dies. It helps a lot to have a case gauge when setting your sizing die. I start with the die turned way out and slowing turn it in while checking the case in the case gauge. I stop once the brass will drop into the case gauge freely. Prevents over working the brass.

Nice to see a fellow Spokanite on here :)
