I'm going to begin loading plated bullets, but only thick plated ones capable of handling full power jacketed load data. My question revolves around how well the TP bullets handle top end velocities / pressures in any application. As for handgun, I load mostly 44 mag., .357 mag, .40 cal, and 9mm. As for powders, I use H110 / 296 exclusively when working with the magnum cartridges. As for the AL cartridges, it's pretty much Longshot nearly exclusively. So considering it is pretty obvious that I don't ever shoot standard loads, are TP plated bullets a good choice for my style of reloading, or not?

And just so it doesn't come up, I will not even consider loading with plain lead bullets of any type. I don't want to deal with leading, bullet lube, or any of the necessary steps associated with such. They must at least be a plated bullet.

I have loaded Berry's bullets for years using the jacketed data and have never had any problems. I rarely load at the very max but often approaching that limit and still have not had any problems. The rare times that I have used max loads (.357 mag) still no problems. YMMV....good luck

You'll find multiple layers of copper foil in your forcing cones, and streaks of soft lead in your barrel. Even at 1200 fps.. revolvers are rough on plated bullets.

I use Oregon trail laser cast bullets in the 44mag, plated bullets for everything else. No leading with the hard laser cast. Chore boy copper scribbie pad instantly removed lead from barrels BTW.
