Ok here we go...i am a huge 30-06 fan and was brainstorming aj idea to have a long enough action to cycle jammed berger vld's or nosler accubond long range (if i ever get to see one). I currently load vld for my 06 but only obviously one shot at a time. If i got a rifle capable of shooting say 300 win mag which should allow room in the clip and rebarreled for the 06.....am i on the right track?

Not even thinking about my sons savage and they cycle beautifully...wish i would have checked before the writeup...still have to try nosler lr yet

I was wanting to rebarrel with match grade for accuracy and trying to kill two birds with long ogive bullets cycling in the action and fit in the mag.

Yes my thompson in 7-08 and 243 is what got me hooked on vld style bullets now im chasing accuracy in my bolt actions they (some) shoot great some not as great but still very good but basically i want to use them in a hunting bolt action with more than one shot...

Look int some CDI precision bottom metal. They allow pretty long seated rounds ive had two sets. On on my 7 mag. I can load my 7 mag to 3.480 in the mag easy

Orrrr. Get your self a 30 cal barrel blank and have it turned to the contour you want, then have it throated for the vld weight of your choice. That way you can load in the mag and set the accuracy your looking at
