Looking for a new mag pouch

Right now I carry one of two firearms. I carry both IWB in roughly the same spot with basically the same design of holster. The problem I see is I carry the spare magazine in 2 different ways. For the double stack firearm, I carry a leather/kydex holster that has far too large of a footprint along my waistline. For the single stack, the spare magazine is in a Desantis mag packer in my pocket. And I don't like keeping ammo in my pocket ie lint and dirt. I want to replace both with one IWB accessory to carry both kinds of magazines. The problem is double vs single stacks.

I like the idea of the Alien Gear mag carrier they came out with, but I don't know how much they adjust to fit either a double or single stack using the same bucket. I have also found these two mag pouches.

My thoughts are I'd buy two pouches from the same maker, one for your double stack gun, and one for your single stack gun. That way, you'd have the same mag pouch for each, but each would be optimized for the mag you're carrying.

I'm not a fan of nylon or velcro on pouches or holsters.

Found my solution. I found a MOLLE compatible magazine pouch that uses elastic to adjust to different sized magazines. I had thought (unsuccessfully) that a STRIKE clip would let me loop it onto a belt, and those are only $2. That idea didn't work. So what did work was a spring steel clip I had leftover from my tuckable hybrid holster, threaded through the MOLLE straps on the pouch. An Ulticlip would probably also work to clip onto pants or belt.

Works great worn right at my 9 o clock. That way the base pad of the magazine isn't digging into my side or abdomen. But there is no "wasted real estate" caused by a larger than needed leather backing. Works for both my single and double stack magazines. The minor downside is the pouch is supposedly designed to work with single/double magazines, flashlights, and personal sized cans of pepper spray. Magazines yes, the others no. Not unless you are carrying very small flashlights (less than 1" around) or similar sized lipstick cans of spray. Very minor as this pouch allows me to free up my left side pocket for something I should carry like my headache medicine. Which sometimes gets left behind for a spare magazine.

My "ah ha" moment was reading reviews of this pouch that it *couldn't* be used to carry a magazine IWB. Well, I just did. Just have to be smarter than the accessory.
