Looking for a specilized rifle

I'm looking for a small, PDW type rifle that I could carry with me on long bike rides, for both self protection and target shooting. I was originally thinking something along the lines of an M1 Carbine (of recent production) with a paratrooper stock.

Basically it would need to be light, decently powered, and reasonably priced. There are probably a few such rifles that already exist that meet about those specifications - I just need some suggestions.

Some options to consider:

-Kel-Tec Sub-2000. Folding carbine shooting pistol ammo. 9mm and .40. Very compact when folded. Carbine barrel length gives it a bit more punch than a pistol.

-Kel-Tec Su-16. Think of a folding AR-15.

-AK with folding stock. You can now put a folding stock on any AK. I recommend a Romanian or German side-folder. Cost under $50. Requires only 2 screws to replace. The AK is now about the size of an M1 carbine with paratrooper stock. The magazine is a lot longer, but short 10-round mags are farily available.

an AR-15 or AK "pistol" wouldn't been bad choices either.

Underfolding AKs are the toughest, sidefolders are not...
