Looking for gunsmith - Central IA

I had initially posted this in Gunsmithing, but it was suggested that I post here instead.

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith in/around central Iowa? I've used Scheel's for some work in the past, but was not quite impressed with the end result. I'm hoping to find someone more personal to do business with.

Basically just looking for someone to shorten/re-crown a rifle barrel and remount the front site; and also ream out my Ruger .45 Colt cylinder throats. These are the kinds of projects my dad used to help with me, but he passed away last year. Trying to make some new friends.

Controlled Chaos is the only one I know of, they are in Baxter. I’ve never used them but do follow them on Facebook and looks like they do some good work.

if u were close id say bring it over. the cylinder reaming is easy u can rent them for about 35 bucks a week. the front sight i guess just needs to be sweated on ?. and what kind of rifle is it if the barrel is small and u can remove it from the action a could cut and crown it.

You're in Brownell's home state. You might try giving them a call as most gunsmiths deal with them from time to time.
