Looking for info on a revolver I inhereted from my Dad

That S&W looks like a Model 10 or a Model 64. From my recollection they were issued to police with both 6 and 4 inch barrels. I have one in a 4 inch. Similar grips. Great trigger.

It's the precursor to the Model 10 & 64. Not interchangeable though as there have been many design changes over the last 97 years.
