Hello,

In a couple of months I be getting a Walther P99 and was wondering if you guys know of any good holsters out there that won't scratch off the finish of the gun. And if there is any holsters made for 'small in the back' type of carry?

thanks,

No holster material will not scratch your gun or be hard on your guns finish over time. Proper retention and fit of the holster dictate that it "fits" your P99 or doesnt allow it to move around while being carried...this tight fit will put pressure on certain points and cause wear. If it fits loose it will suffer a much quicker and worse fate with various rubbing points on the gun.

An SOB holster really isnt recommended for many people......especially with your gun...thicker muzzled guns make for alot of pain when you sit and can cause injury if you fall.

Id look at another carry location....the gun is a stellar gun and I make alot of holsters for them. Just not SOB.......

Shoot well.

what type of holster you recommend?

Thanks for replying,

I was wondering what type of holster this gun be suitable? Since I got a carry permit, I will only carry it on long car trips. I heard rumors of the 'Parkerized finish' wearing off on the gun, but the Tenifer still stays on since it is embedded on the metal.

Is it true that the finish wears off?

thanks,

The Tennifer is very tough but in time will begin to wear on the rub points....its much more tough than parkerizing, which rubs off if you look at it wrong.
If you want a carry holster for sitting and driving a CD or Cross Draw holster is the best choice IMO.....It doesnt affect the back/butt/seat relationship, or seatbelts and offers easy access........its perfect for driving.
A good pancake with forward or FBI cant works well if you pull it around to the side while driving also......given your seatbelts dont interfere with it.

Hope that helps..........Shoot well.........
