Looking for some advice...

on a carry pistol for day-to-day carry in the State of Florida.

I CAN and do conceal a CZ-75B fullsize, but since the weather is heating up and my clothes are reflecting the heat - I do not feel like concealing this hogleg much anymore.

Pistols I've been considering are the CZ P-01, the RAMI, and the CZ75 Compact. I'm also very interested in the Beretta 9000S, and the Steyr S9.

I like these pistols because almost all are compact enough to carry, they are from very good manufacturers, they are 9mm (my preference in a semi-auto compact), and they can be carried cocked and locked (almost all).

I'm also considering a small revolver - but since I refuse to buy S&W, and don't know much about other makers I am hesitant.

So if anyone has experience with these pistols and could help me sort through the differences - I'd be much obliged.

Well, my first choice would be a S&W revolver of some sort. Maybe check out the Ruger SP-101? Taurus has TONS of concealable guns, and I've heard there quality control is getting better. But, I still probably wouldn't buy one. I don't know. I have a hard time recommending another revolver, when there are many great S&W's out there.

Maybe I'd consider a lightly used S&W - but I won't buy a new one....

You have already made some good choices!

I can't speak to the Beretta or the Steyr because I have no experience with either of these guns. On the other hand I own both the CZ P-01 and the RAMI and think that they are really fine pistols. I can carry both but, in fact, my EDC has become the RAMI. Small, compact, reliable and easy to carry concealed. I sure recommend it highly. Good shooting

THe CZ Compact still has a pretty large and wide "grip." I find a BHP easier to carry and conceal than the CZ Compact, even though the slide is longer.

I carry a BHP MKIII in 9MM myself. IWB works well. I am looking at the Taurus 905 9MM for a BUG.

Avoid fat guns. Double stack mags are trendy but I strongly dislike seeing people with giant lumps on their hips.

Makes me think they're carrying guns.......but maybe they just have fat lumps on their hips.
