loose stock on new Browning 22 rifle

Just purchased a new Browning 22 semi auto rife yesterday and the stock is a little loose where it connects to the receiver. Is there any quick fix for this or should I return the gun to store where purchased and have them deal with it? Thanks for the help.

This surprises me, as Browning QC is normally very good. Anybody can have one slip through the cracks, though. Guessing you paid handsomely for this gun, take it back and have the store you bought it at correct the situation.

Part #46 here is the stock nut.

Yes, mine was a bit loose when new also, tightened it like RC indicates and good to go. Follow the instructions and hold onto the receiver, not the buttstock when breaking down or reassembling.
