I rarely watch TV but I happened to catch Lou Dobbs last week so I watched some more today, as far as I'm concerned he is right on the money.

On another note I'm really glad I don't have cable what is up with all the nontraditional life style programming.

He is economically ignorant.

He is a control freak that wants you to dance to his ideals just like the majority of these talking head windbag pundit types.

Lou Dobbs is a hack......in the last 3 years has he had a show that didnt talk about "the exportation of jobs"....please.....the new Thomas Paine........what a slam on Paine to be grouped in with Dobbs.

Lou Dobbs had a pro-RKBA politician on right after the AWB sunset. He kept asking questions like "why do you need semi automatics to hunt ducks?". He then dismissed the speaker saying "well...when I was a kid, all we needed to shoot pheasants was a .22".

I believe he also had a pro-Gun Control personality on, but she did not have to say much since Mr. Dobbs was getting in all the digs against eeeeeevil assault weapons.

Don't go hunting near Mr. Dobbs unless you want a .22 caliber projectile hitting you on top of the head.

Lou Dobbs:

DOBBS: Senator, let me ask you this, as a sportsman, a hunter yourself. You don't think it's very sporting, do you, for anyone, a man or woman, to be in the field with a semi-automatic weapon shooting game? I'm a hunter myself, but I mean the idea of somebody using a semi-automatic rifle or shotgun in the field is an absurdity.

...DOBBS: Well, I'll tell you the truth, Senator, when I was hunting pheasant in southern Idaho, my buddies and I used to, as young fellows, we hunted pheasant with .22s, in point in fact. That's in a different time, a different era and a different place.

...isn't it true, if it were not as you suggest the selfishness as you put it, Senator Feinstein of the NRA, and if at the same time the enthusiasm of the gun control lobby to go beyond simply assault weapons, that we might be able to come together to make rational decisions about gun legislation, is that just simply idealistic or unrealistic?

Thomas Paine:

Moderation in temper is always a virtue, but moderation in principle is always a vice.

Lou Dobbs' wife was arrested in the Atlanta airport a few years ago because she forgot her handgun was in her pocket book. So I am not sure what to make of his gun stance. He seems to be anti-assault weapon, but perhaps pro CCW, at least for the elites of our society.

Well I guess handgun ownership is a +1 for Lou -- at least for his wife.

His snooty attitude in the above interview right after the AWB ended pretty much turned me off on the guy for good. He was being very condescending to Senator Craig -- while Craig was pointing out the facts we all know about the AWB.

I agree Dobbs is economically stupid. Watch him for awhile I did and I got tired of the same crap every fricking night. Immigrants, outsourcing over and over and over. I do not know what his politics are. He sounds like a urban elite Buchannan. I could do much better than him even with my very southern accent I would make more sense.

Hockeydude

Dobbs is the only person on TV who raises the issue of illegal immigration.

You cannot have watched Bill O'Reilly. I think both of them are blowhards and, to an extent, control freaks, but both DO hit it on the head regarding immigration.

In keeping with the fact that this is a GUN board, both are very ignorant (maybe willfully so, since both are obviously intelligent) and both are extremely selective regarding the RKBA (though B.O. has changed his tune a bit since New Orleans). Neither, obviously, thinks that any of us should have semi-auto rifles that look scawy, so on that score I have no use for them.
