Our hunting club has a family day every year the first Sunday after deer season starts .

We have a rule if your shotgun wins , it is out for the rest of the rounds .

Two of my friends asked me too shoot their guns for them . One is older ( my dads age ) and use to take me hunting when I was a kid . The other is one of the nicest people in this world and just came down with MS a few years ago .

I had a good day for my two friends . We only shot 5 rounds and a $50 dollar bonus round , for a total of 6 rounds . I shot 5 of the 6 rounds and won 3 rounds . I won the first round with my friends SX2 with rifles like sights . I won the third round with older friends 870 express , with a special choke , which I don't know what kind it was . To win that round I had to shoot against myself in a shoot off , because there was a tie . So I shot against myself , using my 870 , with a extra full BuckKicker choke and his 870 . I beat myself with his 870 .

Now both of my friends guns are out of the game .

We finish up with the $50 bonus round . So I shot my older friends target and my target with my 870 and my other friends target with his 1187 20ga. . I ended up having another tie with another member , shooting for my older friends target , not my target . So we have another shoot off , just between us two and I win the $50 dollars for my older friend using my gun .

I didn't win anything for myself , but I couldn't be happier for my friends and I had a fun day .

I think I had a lucky day .

I found out what kind of choke he had in his 870 . It was a Remington extended extra full turkey choke . It really put a lot of shot in that small target at 25 yards , using #8 shot .

Sounds like it was a great day and some good shootin'. What's really nice about your story is your long-term friendships with these guys... they've watched you grow up and become someone that seems to have a good head on your shoulders. They might have enjoyed it more than you did! Hee.

:)

I cut some fire wood for my older friend this past winter and loaded up his wood box a few times because he can't do it now . He sold his house a few months ago and moved into a retirement community and I help him move a few things .

While some of us were sitting around talking after the turkey shoot . He said he owes me . I told him that he paid me along time ago , when he use to take me hunting when I was a young teenager and he didn't have too . I told him I still remember that if he doesn't . He said he remembers .
