Hey Guys, I have a t-mag press from the 90s. I was resizing 44 mag brass and noticed as I was lowering the case out of the die that the turrent was moving. Basically lowering the ram was pulling the turrent down with it and the rear if the turrent was coming away from the press. I noticed on the tmag2 that they have a bolt or something there to eliminate this. Should I be concerned about this play?

Thanks.

Depends on how much play you are getting. If it is just enough to be noticed and your ammunition will still chamber then you are OK. The bolt on the T-Mag II does nothing on the down stroke only on the up stroke, and it allows for about 0.015 inch travel.

I got some .001 shim stock and cut rudimentary shims to put between the big washer and the turret on mine.. only took a couple, play is imperceptible now.

What made me really think about it was that it was rocking enough to bother me with pistol brass. I wonder how bad it is with belted magnum brass.
