M&P .45 Question

I made a rash decision today and put a M&P .45 with
night sights on layaway for $365. I did it because I thought
it was an excellent price but know little about them. The serial
# starts with MR****. Does any one here know if there are certain
serial #'s to avoid? Have there been upgrades to the .45 M&P's like
the 9mm?
 
I've heard the earlier ones had some problems with their finish, that's about it.

Congrads on a great deal, I love my M&P45 and happily paid $519 for it.

Some earlier models had problems with the magazines, you may want to call S&W to check with them. That's a great price by the way, I bought a used 9c for $425 and a pair of new ones for quite a bit more. Not sure if the .45s were part of the earlier problematic ones.

I think you'll love it.
 
That's a hell of a deal. If you're not happy with the somewhat "chunky" trigger, I suggest you pick up the duty kit from apex tactical. Super crisp and super slick afterwards with no permanent modification and minimal skill required.
 
M&p 45

It's a solid gun, and you got it for a great price. I just bought one about a month ago for $499 and thought I got a good price here in IN.
