Just $35 plus shipping, I really like the look of this M&P 2 tone, what do you guys think. Maybe a mistake to remove the black corrosion proof finish?

Maybe a mistake to remove the black corrosion proof finish?

The M&P's slides are stainless and have a Melonite (Tennifer'like) treatment on them over which the black coating is applied. Removing just the black coating won't seriously hamper the corrosion resistance of the melonited stainless steel.

Here's mine. Had it blasted at a local pawn/gun shop, bobbed the beavertail myself, and installed a 10-8 rear sight.

What's the advantage to having the beavertail bobbed, is it just for cosmetics?

It will allow a slightly higher grip. I prefer the beaver tail long as it helps to stabilize the gun in my hand.

Interesting, I'm not sure which way I would jump in respect to changing (or leaving) the beavertail.

I'm glad you like it, but I vastly prefer a black slide, to cut down on stray light and such in my sight plane.

Now a colored frame - that would be swoopy. :)

Bulldog,

Hmm. I like the abreviated beavertail. Was it hollow inside? (Did it require filling?)

Thanks.
