So I guess the Hezi modification is dead...right?

http://www.thehighroad.org/archive/index.php/t-184759.html

So I have kept looking for a bullpup stock for my M1 and found this site:

m1bullpup.com

Has anybody ever used one of these? Know anybody that has used one? Or know if the US laws are such that the importation of bullpup stocks is not allowed?

FWIW I would rather go with the Hezi (or even better a Tavor...but with McCain probably getting the nod I just don't see that happening).

Any info would be great.

Thanks,
Keith

$250? Looks like a Muzzlelite knock-off down to the grip and safety. I'd bet some money that it has the same lousy trigger. It looks like it shares the other Muzzlelite design flaws like an unnecessarly long LOP and a short magazine to grip length. To solve it all they needed to do is scoot the action back a couple of inches and include a muzzle device to keep the length over 26".

I say avoid it, even if it were half the price.

Try it out

Well, maybe some wealthy, bullpup obsessed, M1 fan will try it out, but until then I will take your advice and steer clear of it.

Thanks,
Keith

Understandable. I was thinking of doing it to a Universal. Just think it would make a handy truck gun.

Rather than a bullpup, consider a folding stock. Choate makes good folders, and the Italian-made replica paratrooper stocks are good as well. When folded, they are very short. The paratrooper Carbine below is a 1943 Underwood in one of the replica stocks:

NOTE: AFAIK, neither the Choate nor the replica stocks will work with a Universal. So disregard my ramblings if you already have the Universal Carbine you mentioned.

Dave how much did that stock set you back? And do you think it would work on an Auto Ordinance?

$179 from Cheaper Than Dirt a year or so ago. It should work on an AO Carbine, AFAIK.

Didn't anyone learn from Planet of The Apes not to screw around with carbine bullpups?

ROFL! :D
