My dad's neighbor has 3 M1 carbines he would like to sell.

All are import marked Blue Sky.

2 have wood stocks that are brushed on finish. 1 has a Ramline stock.

2 are Inland and 1 is Postal Meter.

All have adjustable sights and bayonet lugs.

2 have magazines 1 is aftermarket and 1 is UQ.

Barrels have good rifling and no pitting.

2 have flat bolts and 1 has a round bolt.

Any idea what these would be worth?

You can base your prices on what CMP is selling carbines for at the moment:

The NPM should be worth a little more since it is rarer. If I were trying to sell it, I would have that one be in a wood stock to at least have an appearance of being a little more correct. If you were trying to sell them as collectible, it would be good to go through each one and record the stamps on all of the parts to be able to know how correct they are.

Having the Blue Sky on them won't help, but since carbines are drying up it probably won't hurt as much as it used to. I haven't seen GI carbines for less than about $500 in a while, with the exception of CMP's rack grades. I would consider the Ramline a little less since I prefer the GI stocks, but you may find someone that wants it.

I would guess more like 300 bucks for a Blue Sky. Most I have seen where really bad on the finish too even if the bores where OK. A lot of them where imported from Koriea and used hard since the deal with China.

I recently started learning about these after I bought mine, so I can tell you some basics. They are very fun guns.

The "Blue Sky" imprint mark really decreases the value as they are no longer desirable to collecters. Some were stamped so deep they flattened the barrel. Good bores can be hard to find, so these might be good shooters. You did not mention the finish and wear. I'd consider them around $500 without knowing more. Could go higher depending on the details.

Your advantage is that your buyer can see it, and shoot it, instead of getting whatever CMP would select for them.

You can find the experts at these links.
