Single shot only. appears that last time I went shooting it was too humid and cleaning was put off for a couple of days. NOW there appears to be some debris in the chamber that is hanging up the case and making it a single shot. It imprints onto the case locking it tight in the chamber and then tears off the case rims trying to get the shell out. I cleaned the chamber with a ratchet brush. It did not help at all.. The only thing I can think to do is to use a case on a pull through the bore rod and try to polish out the debris with some fine polish. I am on the right trach or is there some other way to get at it.

Can you plug the muzzle and hold the rifle vertical while a barrel full of solvent works to soften whatever the 'debri' is?

You don't want to chance enlarging or gouging your chamber.

I did try some spray solvent and soaked it for a little while. I could easily plug it and pour some in there. My suspicion is that whatever debris, rust, whatever is in the chamber is imprinting the case enough to hold it tight in the chamber when fired. When I said polish I did mean the finest grade available. Either red rouge or Flitz using a fired case as a mandrel to lap the chamber.

Debris

if it is "in the chamber" and scoring the brass it is probably a burr of some sort.
if you have a dental mirror you can probably see it. I suugest you wrap a patch around your chamber brush and start with the flitz. Were you firing
reloads? if so the case is prbaly not reduced to the proper size..Bill

Take a cleaning rod down the muzzle and screw on a .38 or .40 caliber bronze bore brush. Then wrap it with a tuft of 0000 Extra Fine steel wool & solvent.

Chuck the cleaning rod in a variable speed drill, and work the brush back & forth in the chamber while spinning it with the drill.

It will clean the chamber clear down to bare polished steel, but cannot hurt the chamber.
