Hey guys I'm thinking of taking my new m1a hunting this year, I lent out all the others to family. What is the best bullet weight to shoot through my loaded model (1/11 i think) for optimum accuracy?

The military loading for the M14/M1A would be a 147 grain FMJ bullet. You shouldn't have any problem with some of the commercial 150 grain soft point loads that are available. Then again, your bullet weight selection will depend on what you are hunting and at what range.

I personally would not push beyond 168gr, which is more than enough to take a deer - especially with some of the incredible bullet offerings for .308
Your Loaded is essentially set up as a match rifle, so I'm sure you could push 175's, but I'd just stick with the 168's....Good luck and happy hunting!

Hey thanks guys, I have some 165s around here already. I was gonna run it with open sights, but do have the scope mount. I havent had a shot over 50 yds in the last three tags filled, figured id be fine with the irons.

Thanks
