M855A1 SBR gel test

The Army's new M855A1 62 gr EPR fired from 11.5" AR into calibrated 10% ordnance gelatin.

If anyone knows the BC for this projectile, please post so we can correlate this to approximate down range performance for longer barrels.

VERY interesting! The only thing I don't like about this new round is the increased pressure. Seems like it could wear out service weapons quicker. Not good for taxpayers.

It is increased pressure, but not nearly as much as the earlier version.

2900 fps out of an 11.5 in barrel seems pretty stout. I wonder where folks are getting this new ammo to test, I haven't seen any available. Judging from the gel tests folks have been posting, M855A1 looks like a wicked round in 11 in to 16 in barrels; It would be interesting to see a test in a 20 in barrel to see if it gets even better with a little more velocity.
