MA: "Bill Seeks Stronger Gun Laws"

Massachusetts is proposing more gun control. The latest scheme would be for local police chiefs to deny firearm licenses for rifles and shotguns based on suitability (whatever that means). House Speaker Robert DeLeo unveiled the new bill. In addition, the bill ends private sales.

"BOSTON (AP) -- House Speaker Robert DeLeo has unveiled long-awaited legislation designed to further tighten the state's already strict gun laws. The bill would for the first time give local police chiefs the ability to deny firearms licenses for rifles or shotguns based on suitability standards and extend federal restrictions for firearm acquisition to the state level."

This is about as anti-gun biased reporting as it gets "long-awaited legislation" .

Who has been waiting for a long time for laws to further restrict law abiding gun owners? Bloomberg?

I could almost swear that Bloomberg wrote the article himself.

I hope Massachusetts gun owners are able to get this steaming pile of legislation tossed out. And toss out the House speaker in November as well.

I grew up in Mass, and moved to TX in 2000. I never even saw a gun until I moved away.

I can't imagine more stringent gun laws. I'm so glad I got out of Mass, I can't even stand going back to visit family.
