How long will a magazine last loaded? Specifically Beretta 92 + 1911 mags. I heard some about people switching out Conceal Carry mags every once in a while, but just wondering how long they were good for...

I know (personally) of a 1911 that was left in condition one in an attic
for over 60 years...and it functioned perfectly with the ammo that was in it.
The gun belongs to my step-father, and I covet it mightily.

Magazines generally wear out from reapeated loading and unloading. This process eventually causes the spring to lose tension. Leaving a magazine loaded for long periods of time does not seem to affect them.
