magnum loads for 2 calibers-powder?

looking for a single powder to load both 357 and 44 mags. New to reloading for both calibers. I would prefer to start with one powder that will work with both to avoid having tons of different powders around. I will experiment more later, but just looking for a starting point. In my manuals, I notices 700-x was listed for quite a few different loads for both calibers. Any thoughts on this or others?

I've used 2400 with excellent results, also BlueDot and AA#9.

Definately agree with 2400 & H110. 2400 a bit more "forgiving" with less than max loads. Another favorite is AA#9. Most accurate load with 180 gr. WFNGC (in .357). I prefer slower powders (as listed above) in straight wall pistol calibers.

AA #9, H110/W296, 2400 all will work well for full loads. 700X will make them both, and a whole lot of others, go bang, but you will only be able to get light to medium loads with it, or any other fast burning powder.

I use H110 in my heavy 44 and 357 loadings. It meters really well and burns clean with a good crimp.

2400 and AA#9 are good, but I like VihtaVuori N110 as well. It also seems to have less muzzle flash.

AA#9 and standard (not magnum) pistol primers. Have had better accuracy than using Win 296 in Colt Python .357, Winchester Trapper 44mag, Ruger 44mag Blackhawk, and Marlin 1895cs .357mag. Shooting jacketed ammo in the .357 and 44 magnums the slower powders like Win 296, H110, 2400, and my favorite AA#9 powders perform best.

I'm with Sharps Shooter...2400 and W-296...2400 is great for those mild magnum loads for target shooting and W-296 is great for hot hunting loads...Although 2400 can be used for hot loads, but W-296 can't be effectively used for mild loads...

H4227. Fills the case and cannot be double charged. Also temperature stable, apparently. Burns clean if enough charge is used and barrel is long enough. I don't know the other large pistol powders.
