Might decide to pickup a LB of W231 in the near future, but in the meantime anyone who has any input on their AA #7 loads that would be excellent, as that is what I currently have in my possession...

I have heard of the max load being somewhere up to 7.0 grains of AA#7 for the 9x18 cartridge does this sound right?

I have data here showing 7.2 grains maximum with #7 for lead as well as jacketed bullets from 95 to 100 grains weight. As you likely know though you should never start with these max loads. To answer your question in the other thread about why such a seemingly heavy charge weight it is because #7 is a slower burning powder.

Ah, I have heard with slower burning powders that it is sometimes still igniting while the case ejects, giving more flash, etc is that correct?

I would probably load comfortably up to 7.2 no problem, starting at around maybe 6.8 grains and building from there... Should I perhaps even keep it at around 7.0 grains? Accuracy over speed is the name of my game unless I'm loading SD rounds in which case most likely JHP bullets with 7.2 could potentially be suitable.
