Make your own 3 man squad!

If SHTF and you have only two others with you (ie: friend, wife, child, etc) how would you set up a squad for recon? Retrieving supplies? Entering a structure? Try to use as few weapons as possible. (1-3 each)

Remember, this is a SHTF scenario... no bazookas, automatic weapons, etc.

Here's an example:

Person A) .45acp & 12 ga. shotgun (for up close and personal)

Person B) 9mm & AR-15 as M4 design(mid-range)

Person C) .357 mag & .308 (distance)

Person C would set up as a sniper on top of an adjacent building to handle advancing enemies & keep others from entering the structure behind A & B. He would have his magnum as a back-up in case someone tried to sneak up on him. Person A and B would both be entering the structure. B would be liquidating most of the opposition (since he would likely hold more rounds) while person A would clear entries, burst doors/locks, and drop anyone who got too close to A & B.

There you have it. Distance, power, and speed/capacity.

Would some of you mix the three? Each person would get somewhat distance, power, and capacity? Would you use different weapons?

What are you trying to accomplish here, protecting you and yours, or running a looter/hit squad? The idea is to protect yourselves, not go hunting for trouble to 'liquidate'.

i'd be a one man squad if it was just me, the wife, and kid.

if TSHTF, i'd try to hunker down rather than run around with guns blazing, but if the situation came to that, i like your thinking.

i think four would be better, because everyone should go in pairs. perhaps like this:

mini-squad one:

a) highcap .45 and short carbine or shotgun
b) highcap 9mm, M1A or FAL for longer range, but still able to back up A with either weapon.

mini-squad two:

c) remington 700 in .308 or .30-06 and back up pistol, any kind
d) carbine in .308 and auto pistol to watch the back of the sniper (c)

squad one would clear the building while squad two would watch thier back and provide assistance when needed.
