Makrov or Kel Tec for summertime CCW?

I own a mak as my ccw, I have never shot the Kel-tec...only handled one once at a gunshop. It didnt fit my hand well where the mak fits like a glove! I load mine with 120gr LVE Hp's which are close to a 9mm out of a short barrel! I really dont feel outgunned cuz the mak goes bang EVERY time the trigger is pulled:evil: Check out Steven Camps website and check out is mak article's before you make up your mind!

The P11 was my first handgun, and it's a horrible first gun. My second handgun was a German Makarov, and the confidence I have in it and gained in myself via practice with it made it the best choice for me as someone not so familiar with handguns.

That was 7 or so years ago. Looking at the two now, the Keltec P11 is ~for me~ the best tradeoff between weight, stopping power and capacity. Ari mentioned the availability of the belt clip for it as a plus, I see it that way too. I haven't paid much attention to things Keltec lately and only became aware of the PF9 last week when I received a CDNN catalog. I'd like to see one, but I don't think the tradeoff in capacity for thinness would matter much to me.

Either is a good choice. I've the most confidence in one of my many Makarovs. But for ease of carry, personally I have to give the nod to the P11. I can live with the very slight difference in the level of confidence I have in in it vs. the Pistole M.

What is the size diff between the P239 I carry? I also carry my P3AT when wearing really light clothes. Went back to the mothership 2x for repair till they finally changed everything except the frame, works great now.

just my 0.02 but it would be keltec for me i carry either an older p32 or a new p3at at all times as bug to whatever else im carrying but i never go with out one of my kt's

I'm a big fan of the Makarov - but find it too heavy for summer carry. Lots of lightweight options out there that would work better in the pocket of your shorts.

I'd pick the new Kel-tec P9. Why? I like the Maks so much I hate messing them up with all that Texas sweat one will get in the summer. The P9, in 9mm, will be quite fine as for power and it is slim as can be. The P-11 is, to me, a wannabe Glock. And if you are gonna go the Glock size route, get a real Glock, 26, 27, or 33!
