"the man was traveling northbound on Industrial Avenue in Roseville when the cell phone device activated. The driver was startled and veered off the road through the guardrail. The SUV landed in Pleasant Grove Creek."

They need to pull his license! Works security, but scared off the road by a cell phone. Wound a little tight???

Ah yes, Barn.

See, *THAT'S* what happens when you deprive yourself of range time. You start looking for *any* excuse to shoot! :)

I still don't understand why he went of the road. Was he trying to take evasive action against the noise?

Sounds like he was startled by the gun going off in the car BEFORE he went off the road. Sorry pal, the hands-free cell phone device story is not believable.

Thank Goodness he was not flying the Space Shuttle.

There would be a divot where California used to be.

Most likely a cover story by the driver - sounds better than "I was texting someone while driving, like an idiot".

I'll bet his ears are ringing.

How comfortable are we that this man carried a looaded gun in public every day..?

That was my first hunch. I can think of many ways to get out of a submerged SUV. None of them involve "blasting my way out". What a boob.

Also, did anybody watch the video? The witness they interviewed cracked me up. "Who carries a gun in their car these days?" Ha! California. . .

Would that really be such a bad thing?

Yeah, the guy is an idiot. If he was IN FACT under water when he fired the shot it's understandable. No other way to break the window quickly. Paying attention while driving would help, I wonder if they have checked his phones yet to see if he was texting....

that is what I'm thinking too.

He probably has T-mobile. Their stock ringtone, their little theme song thing is pretty haunting

ROFL, that guy was hilarious - "Who carries a gun in their car these days?"

Yeah, our Utopian society is so perfect we don't need guns anymore. There isn't any crime. In fact, it doesn't even make sense that he was a security guard at a casino.

And if that guy is so scared of his cell phone that he drives off a bridge, I'm not sure he makes the best security guard. I can see it now:

He's standing guard at the Casino. *RING RING*

He leaps behind a row of slot machines and calls for backup.

At least the police officer didn't say anything stupid.

Well at least he could think fast... if my truck was sinking and I couldn't get out, shooting out my window would not be the first thing that came to mind...

I can see it now... "What caliber for car windows!?"

I've been told the best way get out the vehicle if the door won't open is to lay supine facing the nearest window and kick it out using both feet. Blasting it out works too obviously, though it must have deafening side effects.

What caliber is best for shooting out windows? 9mm fmj of course, put that overpenetration to use! Bwahhaha :)

"Who carries a gun in their carry these days?" LOL what a boob.
