Is Marlin making this rifle now? They made one in .32 mag as a 1894 cb, web site lists it but no price. I like the .32 H&R, the wife has a carry gun in it, so a rifle for her and the GS's to shoot makes sense as we have plenty of componets. The .327 would work also as I think Ruger may offer a revolver in 6" for it.

marlin quit making .32 mag. rifle. It was cowboy action octagon barrel. Round barrel would have been $200 cheaper. Last week I saw a near new .32 mag. marlin at post falls , Id cabellas store at $650. Ruger has a 5.5 inch barrel on their 8 shot blackhawk revolver. This gun shoots 5/8 inch groups at 25 yards with american eagle 100 gr. heads. Have fun and bangaway.

I really wish someone made a .327 in a carbine. It may be a niche piece, but those who love the .327 would buy it in heart beat I bet.

Even though I don't own any .327s or plan to, I'd like to see it happen too.

Where would such a gun shine, hunting-wise, do you think? I'm guessing anywhere the old .32-20 did. I don't know much about the .32-20.

If I'm not mistaken, if you had a rifle chambered for .327 you could also fire .32mag and .32long and short. One could use the .32s&w longs as a mild small game round.

I'm a big fan 32 H&R and the 32-20 and find them to be very similar, except the 32 H&R will fit in smaller revolvers. 32-20 revolvers tend to be full sized and heavy.

A 327 rifle would be very interesting and likely expand the top end of the versatility of the caliber. I know that the 32-20 seems to feed better in rifles than the 32 H&R. I imagine the longer 327 might work well.

I know of one Deer killed this year with a 32-20 (friend of a friend) and it performed well.

There are Marlin .32 H&R rifles floating around on the auction sites.
Whatever it is that you want to do with the .327, you can pretty much do with the Marlin in .32 H&R.
Pretty sure there are fewer of the .32 H&R's than the 32-20 flavor though.

Use magnum small rifle primers for hot loads.

No the .32 H&R mag. is no where near what a .327 Fed. Mag. is, that is like saying a .38 Spl. will do what a .357 mag. will do.........

According to the web Ballistics By The Inch a 4 inch gun gives a 100 gr. factory load 1604 fps. The 115 gr. load runs 1431 fps. This in itself is faster than the .32-20,s 100 gr. 1200 fps rifle load. A 16 inch .327 barrel gives 100 gr. at 2141 fps and 115 gr. at 1894 fps. Whitetail medicine? Maybe.

.32 mag 4 inch gun 85 gr. factory gets 1031 fps while the 16 inch gun gets1155 fps. I was expecting much better vel. with rifle. Have to chrono some rifle stuff. Have fun and bangaway. Ballistics By The Inch web again.
