Hey guys

New here and had a question, I have owned a marlin that is chambered for the winchester 375 round. I received the gun in 2002 when my dad passed. I have tried to find ammo and it is either really expensive or non existent. My brother and I have decided to start doing our own reloading, but I want to do plenty of research first. I have been searching everywhere but cant seem to find where to purchase the brass and bullets. I know the factory rounds I have now are the winchester super x 200 grain. Any Ideas or hints

I just bought a 94 Winchester in 375 and I'm in a similar situation. I have read that you can blow out 30-30 brass, but you can't use it for full pressure loads. I'm not sure I would take that as gospel without doing some research first.

375 brass and ammo are seasonal runs. Winchester will produce a batch and then no more until the next year. With the ammo situation the way it has been lately, it looks like we picked a bad time to start shooting an obscure cartridge.

From what I've read, .38-55 brass can be used to load .375 Win. Bullets ard still hard to find.

I have a Marlin in .375 Winchester that I load for. I was able to buy 500 rounds of new brass before all the craziness started, so I'm fine on the brass. You could blow out .30-30 brass by fireforming, but it would be short, and not as strong as real .375 Winchester brass.

Hornady makes a 220 grain jacketed soft point bullet, or did before they cut back on the product line to keep up with the demand on the more popular calibers. I cast 265 grain gas checked bullets for mine for most of my shooting, and it groups really well.

Keep searching for the brass, and in the meantime stock up on some powder (Reloder 7 works really well), bullets and primers when you can find them.

Hope this helps.

Fred

PS: If you think .375 Win. brass is hard to find, try finding some .444 Marlin....... Glad I bought 500 rounds of it at the same time.

Good News, I checked the Starline website and amazingly enough they actually have 38-55 brass in stock. They are offering 2 different lengths so do your homework before you order but you probably don't want to wait too long in this environment. (although the normal length brass looks like the right length for forming 375 Win cases)

From what I've read when you form 30-30 brass for loading the 375 Win it's too weak for full power loads but not so with 38-55 brass. Considering the 38-55 is the parent case for the 375 Win I would say it's a better choice anyway.

I just bought 100 rounds of .444 Marlin brass from Cabela's, no problem at all finding it... They had plenty more at the store, but i only wanted 100 rounds...
