Can anyone tell me the difference between a Marlin 39A and a 39AS.

I compared the two and only saw that there was one more screw on the upper of the 39AS. All else seemed the same.

I believe the "S" in "AS" refers to the crossbolt safety on the later models. Seems like it was sometime around 1988 when Marlin caved in to the lawyers.
