I dove into my model 60 to polish the action with the hope of a smoother trigger. I followed this power point presentation which was infinitely useful.

However, once I put the whole thing back together I can no longer half-cock the bolt. I pull back on it and when I release it moves all the way forward. The bolt release lever seemingly does nothing. The rifle will dry fire but I'm concerned that ive compromised the safety of the rifle.
Are there any specific springs/parts/assemblies that would specifically be responsible for this behavior?
Some things I've noticed:
1) Following that power point I bent my sear spring like the author did before I realized that he has an extra hole drilled into the action side. So my sear spring is abnormally shaped.
2) When I disassemble and look into the action after dry firing the lifter spring does not stay in place well.
This is my first rifle and I was so proud of myself for disassembling and reassembling the action (it took 4 hours) until I got into this awful mess.
Any help or ideas are greatly, greatly appreciated!
