I've got a problem with my Marlin M60. The rifle is accurate and groups well, and I really enjoy shooting it, but POI is about 2" right of POA at 25 yards. I know I could just compensate, but I'd rather fix the iron sights if there's an easy solution.

I know I could just mount a scope, but I'd rather use iron sights - again, assuming I can fix the POI/POA issue.

Any suggestions? Please withhold recommendations to sell it and buy a different rimfire rifle. I'd like to pick up a higher quality rimfire rifle in the future, but that will be down the road. Looking for a way to fix this rifle.

I also have a Marlin m60, and love it. You can use a brass drift and a small hammer and drive the base of the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to move. It will not take much, maybe 1/16", and you should be on target.

Yep, drifting the sights is the way to do it.

Remember to drift the rear sight the direction you want your shots to go.
If you ever have occasion to move the front sight on a gun to adjust windage, you drift it the opposite of the direction you want your shots to go.

Expect to do windage and/or elevation adjustments to suit your style of shooting. I cannot vouch for the eyesight or range used at the factory for testfiring the gun. I know that after I had cataract surgery I had to rezero all my opensighted rifles (my Ruger MarkII pistol was still on for me though). For different reasons, people may see sights differently.

Most Model 60s have the steel rear sight. The Marlin aluminum rear sight has a set screw that must be loosened before drifting it.

I prefer to center the front sight on the end of the barrel and do any windage adjustment on the rear sight.

a set of Tech Sights will make a huge difference on the Model 60. they're the best accessory you can buy for that rifle, imo.

I second this, obviously cost involved though. If you want to really increase your shooting ability without switching to glass, tech-sights are hard to beat. Here's mine in current form:
