How can I tell if an assembled lower was put together with a National Match trigger? I'm thinking of building my own AR, looking at both complete and stripped lowers, but want the match trigger either way. Any advise would be appreciated!

Use a thumb to stop the hammer from striking the bolt catch. Get a death grip on it, that hammer gets moving pretty quick. Or, just attach it to an upper.

It it has a long take up and then releases, it's not a two stage match trigger. The two stage match trigger will have a light take up, then a "stop" where it meets more resistance, then it breaks cleanly. Thus the "two stage" moniker.

There are single stage match triggers. If you have ever used a regular GI single stage trigger on an AR, the match versions should be obvious when tried.
