McConnell to challenge gun control

Not just the Tea Party

The Politicians are seeing an "awakening" of a grass root movement that they have not seen for a long time ( if ever)....they are being swamped with pro gun correspondence.....Fox network this past week has aired several shows that have presented the pro gun side very well, especially the Friday night Hannity. WE have the ability to communicate with fellow supporters in ways that we never had before.....I attended a pro gun rally in my state's Capital yesterday and it was well attended. And new memberships are pouring into the NRA, GOA,SAF and other RTKBA groups. Believe me, most of the politicians are paying attention.
 
Well isn't this nice. He formerly sided w/ Diane F. on trigger locks according to this article. He also made some of the most bone-headed remarks I've ever heard of to troops departing for Iraq and their families.

We gunnies were definitely getting "comfortable" over the last couple years. Once the '08 panic settled down, we were all convinced the administration's hands were tied, and that we'd never see any movement on the issue so long as ARs remained popular, and gun ownership kept climbing. Guns were a third rail, no different than Social Security or Medicare. We are experiencing a "rebound" from the large strides we've made over the last decade, as is to be expected with any major social change.

What's different, is that we hold the superior position (again, the larger-than-ever gunowner population out there), and if we can stick together, and coordinate our representation appropriately, the appeals for restriction we hear now will be remembered as the death throes of the American Gun Ban Movement in the early 21st Century.

I got an email today from another group that said Mc Connell may be cutting a back room deal with Reed to get enough Repubs in board to stop a fillibuster on a vote. I don't trust either one of them. Don't know but anything is possible in DC.
 
I got an email today saying that Sandy Hook never happened, it was all a sham...
 
Well Sen. Reid is on record opposing the AWB so if he is making a deal with McConnell it is to stop legislation not get it passed.
 
They will still go after 10 round mags and to close the so called gunshow loop hold

Watch and see McConnell is my senator and I would trust him to watch my dog. He talks big then deals in back room and never to our good.

Paul is the best senator and Mc Connell did about every thing he could to keep him off the ballot. He wanted his choice to be other senator.
 
McConnell needs to retire already. I haven't lived in Kentucky for 15 years, and he was a long time senator even then.

Never trust a career politician.
 
Reid has said he doesn't want to take the lead in the current gun control debate on the Democratic side in the Senate. I feel his vote mostly depends on the language of the bill and the pulse of his constituents. He had a difficult re-election.

I would expect a Senator from KY to oppose just about any new gun control legislation. If he votes for it, I doubt he will be re-elected.
 
Reid is also a gun owner and has supported shooting sports in the past. He is from Nevada, so I doubt his constituents will be falling over themselves to ask for more gun control.

Personally, I think Obama should have included Harry Reid in the little task force they set up. He would have been qualified and could have probably given valuable input to help see gun rights respected, but the administration chose a path of frontal assault on the Second Amendment instead.

There was never the intent of doing anything positive. The results of the Biden group was written years ago, just waiting for an excuse to present it at a politically correct time.
I would like to think that the anti-gun element merely has a different opinion than I do. However, it is difficult to give them the benefit of that doubt when they refuse to let logic interfere with their agenda.
 
I hope McConnell is good to his word. Unfortunately, his track record is not that good.

As far as Reid being a supporter of shooting sports, be careful. The "Party" has given many politicians cover on gun issues by allowing them to mouth a pro-gun position. However, when push comes to shove they will vote as instructed. The other cover they are using is the EPA. A politician can claim to be pro-gun while supporting the EPA. The EPA will be used to back door gun restrictions through the banning of the use of lead in ammunition. Such a ban would cripple the shooting sports. Unfortunately, many shooters will not connect the dots.
