Shooter’s Alliance for Firearms Rights

Will be holding an open CPL Forum Friday, February 20, 2004. 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

This gathering will be hosted by The Great Lakes Shooting Sports Association at the Chief Okemos Sportsman’s Club 4667 N Gunnell Rd., Dimondale, Michigan.

Speakers will include: Oleg Volk, 2nd Amendment Photographer and Activist. (Models of all shapes and sizes and firearms needed for shoots.)

Sheriff Rick Jones, of Eaton County, (currently running for a Michigan House Seat.)

Atty. Jim Simmons, presenting the changes in effect with PA719.

Bryan Reynard: Working with the Democratic Party.

Pat Alzady on personal activism to make political change.

I would also appreciate a loan of studio strobes or a second Canon 550EX or 420EX flash (I have one 550 and it can control the others) for the photos shoots. We'll be trying to do some Michigan-specific posters.
 
It's a five-hour drive for me, but I'm thinking of making the trip. This would be a very good chance (maybe your only chance) for THR Michiganders to meet Oleg.
 
That'd be great, Mr. Blues. We're expecting quite a group and the more the merrier.

Pray for good weather on Saturday, or least a lot of polar bears! :)

For those of you nearby (and I know there are at least a few,) there is a gun show in Hillsdale this coming weekend. Stop by the booth.
 
We have had a gun donated as a fundraiser...AK-47 style Romak Romanian 7.62x39 rifle.

Man, I wish I could go, but I have family obligations this weekend that I can't get out of. It would be nice to meet Oleg and visit with some of my gun buds.
 
The SAFR Forum Friday night in Michigan was a big success. Much thanks to all who attended and lended a helping hand.
A huge thank you to Oleg, who gave a fascinating talk (the evenings highlight, IMO) on rational activism.
Special thanks also to Barbara, whose baby this was and which she toiled over. (Now rest up, you deserve it!)

If it wasn't a 12 hour drive I would have been there if just to meet Oleg. Glad to hear that the forum went well! :)
