Midwayusa earmuffs

First, you can always read the reviews on the MidwayUSA site.

Second, I think they are very good earmuffs. I have a set of two. They are rated at 30db which is very high. Most muffs seem to be about 23. They are pretty thick though, and some people that have used them have complained about them interfering with a cheek weld. I think those people are generally doing it wrong, but if a rifle/scope set up doesn't fit you right, it is certainly possible. I purchased mine for about $22 bucks.

I have seen the same Peltor earmuffs in a dept. store in both the sporting goods and near the yard equipment.
The same muffs, different packaging, and the ones near the yard stuff were HALF the price of the muffs in sporting goods dept.

The SAME store...go figure.

I've experienced the cheek weld problem myself. Seems to be a function of ear size and location. My ears are on the large side and lower on my head than normal I think. Unless I adjust the muff so they ride as high as possible - cheek weld issue. Adjusted to ride as high as possible equals not comfortable.

My Peltor 7S electronic muffs on the other hand don't seem to have the same issue.

Go figure 'cuz the 7S and the 10 look pretty much the same dimensionally to me.

Hmmmm.... maybe lexxj is right and I am doing something wrong.

Garbage---don't waste your money.

Bought 2 pairs of those exact muffs(for a lot better price than that)---worked ok for a couple months--then the pads around the ears started falling off---got so bad they would fall off every time I picked em up or pulled em off my head--PITA.

Look at the Howard Leight muffs if you want a good pair for the money.

I use some Peltor muffs I bought at a hardware store, the same one's Straight Shooter linked to. 3 years, no issues. Aside from the range, I keep 'em by my computer for when the Blue Angels are practicing low enough to make my dishes rattle. :D

I've got the Browning Dual Shell (NRR 30db) made by Peltor that I bought from Bass Pro Shops but Midway sells the same ones. Good muffs but if I were you I'd buy the ones you posted the link to. They're about half the price of the Brownings and are probably the same muff.

Check out the Howard Leigth Impact Sport electronic muffs for the grand ol' price of $45.00. One of the best electronic muffs out their and a reasonable price.

they have a good NRR rating (the higher the better). i have some howard leight one's that have a NRR 33. that's the highest i could find. plu si stick those little foam plugs in my ears too. i always double up like that. that's why i can still hear very well.

i've seen people at the indoor range with only the foam plugs! (they say "what" a lot if you talk to them lol)

these midway one's are pretty cheaply priced. you can get the howard leight NRR 33 one's like mine for $25.

Absolutely, I didn't, 67 now, and wear aids in my ears. Fourty dollar muffs and $2 plugs versus $8000.00 worth of aids. Take your pick.

There are 27 written reviews on Midway's web page for that item. Why are you asking us?

I don't own these, but I bought the Howard Leight Impact Sport electronic muffs from Midway, and they're great! Probably the best value going if you decide you want electronics.

I've had that pair of blue Midway 30dB muffs for several years. I use them every day in construction and chainsaw work, and about once a week shooting. I usually double up with military-style plugs when I'm shooting.
They're the best muffs I've owned by far. The foam and cushioning on all muffs deteriorates with age and use, and can usually be replaced.

No amount of money spent protecting your hearing or sight is ever wasted.

I have a pair that I use for pistol shooting. They stick out too far for me to use with rifles or shotguns: they bang into the stock.

They work very well for me. I wear them over plugs, which cuts out so much that I can barely hear the range commands. That's OK, because it's a pretty limited vocabulary, so I don't really have to hear the "finer points."
