went to the local gun shop yesterday and he had a nice old tang 77r in 757. It seems at times that ive spent half my life struggling on the bench with poor shooting tang safety rugers and have said more then once i wouldnt buy another. Worse thing is the 757 tang safety guns were notorious poor shooters. In the past ive owned a rs and a #1 that could be outshot with a 3030 win. I just couldnt leave it there though. cool old gun in a cool caliber. Oh well here we go again. I like the round enough to keep trying. Maybe God will smile on me and this one will be a keeper.

Good luck with that!

I've had several tang safety 77's that shot pretty well, tho I've heard of the mediocoe shooters.

If it doesnt keep your interest, it shouldnt be hard to find a good home for. I'd rebarrel a tanger 77 that didnt shoot well, I like them better than the newer guns, and most other models or makes.

Ive got many irons in the fire right now. Ive got 3 other guns i need to do load developement on this year so probably what will happen is i will stick a scope on it bed it float it and stick it in the safe till next summer. I too do like the tang saftey actions and rebarelling it if its a dud might be an option.

Tang Safety Rugers

I have only fired two of them; one in 257 Roberts ( a tack driver) that would put five shot clusters right on top of each other with whatever ammo you put through it, and a 30-06 that would shoot 1" MOA with most loads and 2" MOA with others.
This was all done many years ago and @ 100 yards, never got the chance to shoot them any farther. But my experience with them is good
