Decent blog post by Michael Brown, laying out how while Sen. Feinstein is arguing that the AR is unsuitable for personal defense, the Department of Homeland Security (ICE) is looking to purchase over 7,000 AR rifles ... specifically stating that these are “personal defense weapons” and states they are “suitable for personal defense use in close quarters.”

The DHS ICE RFP was back in Sept 2012, but still, interesting that the suitability of the AR for personal defense is laid out in a government bid spec. So, has DHS inadvertently bolstered the case that the AR is suitable for the "core lawful purpose of self-defense" (to borrow a few words from the Heller decision)?

Kinda blows up the Joe Biden "expert" opinion on the old double barrel as well ...

p.s. this is the same Michael Brown that was the FEMA director during Katrina ("heckuva job Brownie"), now doing the radio talk show thing...

That's a valuable piece of information. Here's the link to the RFP being referred to.

I wish that all the companies would adopt the "Barrett Policy" of refusing to sell to government agencies that do not allow the same equal weaponry for citizens.

Oh, the irony...

I'm running out of words to calmly convey my thoughts. The *ish* is getting thick.
