I have a Mil Pro 45 acp and LOVE it had zero problems.

I was thinking of getting a 24/7 SA/DA and wanted to know what you guys thought?

Any Mil Pro or 24/7 owners who can tell me how they like their gun?

I can't offer any info on the 24/7 but I own a PT111 and have had no problems with it. The only thing I am not sure of is how long the frame around the slide will last. I see no metal at all. I wonder if most polymer frames are built this way. But I figure for the price of the PT111 it's a pretty good pistol.

I shoot 147 gr ammo. Have you tried the lighter weight variants?

I haven't really considered the 24/7. Instead, I've been looking at (at reading about) the Springfield XD, Steyr M series, and the Walther P99. Why are you considering the 24/7?

I recently got a 9mm 24/7 Pro. !00% function out of the box. Basically I like it but the sights aren't so good for my eyes. I do better with my XD9 "tactical" although dry firing with snap caps I like the 24/7 Pro trigger better. I think its the better sights (for my eyes) and longer sight radius on the 5" XD Tactical vs. the 4" 24/7 Pro. I think the Milleniums and 24/7s are very good guns for the money.

You might want the plain (non-Pro) 24/7 if you want the same trigger as your PT-145.

The 24/7 and the millieum pro both have a large metal sub frame in them. It is black but it is metal. I know this for sure because I took my 24/7 apart to see if a could. Here is a picture of the metal subframe of the 24/7.

Brought my PT111SSP-12 home this past Friday. Put 200rnds through it this weekend. Not one stinkin' problem. Very impressed that this type of price tag can get you a pistol this nice. I'm no handgunner by any stretch of the imagination... so I was impressed when I could get a decent group with all 12 rnds with such a short sight radius.

My PT145 Mil Pro is my first Taurus. 11 rounds of .45 ACP in a small, reliable package is nice. I really like it.

Hi all!
I own the MilPro PT111 ssp.. Ive putt about 2000 rds tru her since October '05. ZERO malfunctions. the most reliable lil pistol Ive had my hands on.

I plan on getting the 24/7 in .45 this fall.
and I realy want a PT145, but have been hesitant with concerns for recoil....

I shure wish they made the 24/7 and MilPro in .357Sig.... you couldnt go wrong!!!

Taurus will always be my first choice for quality autos!

neil, yeah the milpro's also have an alloy insert, and its quite strong and light.
Ive used many different loads in the pt111.
I would recommend Winchester STHP (SilverTipHollowPoint) in 147Gr for PersonalDefence. low flash/recoil, reliable and accurate. the 115gr STHP is an impressive expander, but I usually keep the 147's loaded for a bit more pennetration.
You cant go wrong with the STHP.. hands down...
No fragmentation from the 147, with only a few minor jacket petals from the 115s.. near flawless expansion impacting targets from nearly all angles.. no deflection!
The 115's are for home defence, where I preferr less pennetration!

A cheaper variant, thats also quite impressive, but less costly,(for those of us who like to practice with what we carry) are the Winchester (WhiteBox) USA PersonalProtection 147Gr JHP. These are quite close to the STHP in preformance.. however, upon impacting a target at an angle, they expand less, or un-evenly.. No deflection, however, a bit more fragmentation than the STHP.

for target/range, CCI Blazer 115 FMJ are the cleanest, most accurate, reliable load Ive found.. and quite affordable!
(use the aluminum case, the brass reloadable are much dirtier)
