Can anyone recommend a good basic belt holster for a Glock 19?

  • efficient design
  • durable construction
  • decent retention (flap holsters acceptable)
  • no concealment necessary
  • compatible with pre-MOLLE GI web gear
  • drop leg types not favored, but not ruled out

UM84/M12?

Designed for 5" guns, buts works OK with 4".

Not trendy, and popular to bash, but I used it extensively on Active Duty with no complaints. I have two now- one for my 1006 and one for my 90's era M92 Brigadier set-up on a GI pistol belt with mag pouch.

Thanks.

Edit: Man, those things are EXPENSIVE, at least on Amazon. You can get a decent name brand leather holster for around the same price.

Not a problem.
Bianchi makes this part of an entire system, too. There are matching mag carriers. Also, two different drop leg extensions. There's an over the shoulder "tanker" rig as well as a more traditional "shoulder" holster rig, too.

And, typically, if you decide those bits don't fit your needs, you can flip them pretty readily.

The Bianchi UM84 II is the shorter version of the UM84, made for 4 to 4.25 inch bbl pistols vs. the M12 / UM84 which fits up to 5" pistols. Bianchi recommends their UM92 and UM92II for Glocks, because those holsters have a plastic insert that shields the trigger guard.

I bought one of these for my Glock 44, and it fits my same size Glock 19 just as well. I don't think my Barsony flap holster is anywhere near as high quality as the Bianchi flap holster others have pointed out, but it's okay for my purposes. It protects my little Glock 44 (my fishing/kit gun) real well, it was relatively inexpensive and it looks "neat.";)

The Bianchi UM84/M12 works great for the M1911 or Beretta 92 (M9) but it's way too tight for the Sig 320 (M17). This tells me that the Sig is bulkier than the Glock, if the Glock will fit.

The "official" Sig-branded holster for the 320 (made in Israel) is more like a scabbard than a protective holster. The gun clicks into the holster and is retained by a catch, but most of the gun is left exposed.
