MO: John Ross offering CCW training in the St. Louis area

It is so like Mr. Ross to take advantage of a new and controversial Missouri law and its citizens by making money on firearms training classes. :neener:

Of course, John is one to understand the unintended consequences of a permit system and would be the first to lobby for Vermont/Alaska carry.

Tempting Fate

Rick:

I think considering he fought for CCW for nearly 6 years before he "Went back into the showers" as I read in the bio of him, hired the lobbyist to get it started back in 1992, I think he more than well deserves it. :)

Oh, yeah. Sure. Now he's linked to lobbyists for the, er, gun lobby.

Has the man no shame??? :p

Rick's just funnin'.

I'd take Vermont Carry in a heartbeat and tear up all the training forms straight off.

If we HAVE to have training, I'm a good one to do it. I'm less costly than the competition, more interesting to listen to for 8 hours, and have better guns and a better range facility.

Had a class of experienced shooters who thought they were going to be bored to tears today. Shoulda seen the smiles when I demonstrated to the class it's possible to put 20 out of 20 rounds on a silhouette target at 7 yards (15 is all that's required to pass) in slightly less than two seconds with a Wondernine.*

*The trick is, the Wondernine you pull out of your waistband needs to be a Stechkin instead of a SIG or Hi-Power.

I would like to give my thanks to John for all he has done to get right to carry in Missouri. Now if we can only get it in Kansas.

Mr. Ross,
As a fellow St. Louisan I want ot thank you for your work. I have already signed up for class at the range where I am a member (Bull's Eye.) I do have feeling that St. Louis folks are going to have problems with Murphy and his people. We may have to get people together and pay for the legal action it is going to take to get him to comply.

John,

I have an axe to grind.

I'll never forgive you for all those sleepless nights reading 800 pages of UC.

It made me double my gun collection and treble my blammo supply.

Rick

John, You gotta leave MO now, and move to KS! I think as a Dem you could get elected in Douglas Co! After all, in the 2000 election, Douglas was the only county in all of KS to go for Gore...!

Then maybe we could get KS onboard the CCW bandwagon!

CCW In Kansas

Well, we could sure use some kind of help here!

The problem in Kansas isn't the Dems, it's all the freakin' RINOs (Republican In Name Only)!!

We had a real shot at CCW in 2002: Elect Phil Kline as A.G. and Tim Shallenberger as Gov. That was the 1 - 2 punch we needed to get CCW through the state legislature and signed at the governor's desk.

But we could only manage to get Phil in office. Now we have a governor in office who has been described by Kansas NRA Election Volunteer Coordinator Phil Journey as, "The single most anti-gun politician this state has ever seen.".

It's like being assimilated by the Borg: "Resistance is futile, you will exist to service Topeka." The disconnect between the "annointed" in the capitol and the rest of us who have to live here is incredible.

Still, I keep trying....... :banghead:

John,
I signed up for training at Crossfire range (KC side of the state), and they said that they are having to wait on the Sherif to let them know exactly what they need to teach. Did you hear from your local Sherif, read the law and go from there, or am I missing something?

Thanks,

Fezwig

Ditto!!

BTW, I'm more than pleased with the passage of CCW in MO - I may have to go over the river more often.

First of all, another big thanks to you, John, for all your work and effort.:D :D I for one think your class price of $100 is very reasonable for what you offer. Hear near KC and Independence some ranges are charging $175!!:(

I have always thought that with ccw in Mo, this can only help in KS. Hang in there KS it's only a matter of time. BTW I have a very personel interest in having CCW in KS as this is where I work. Nothing quite like driving over an imagainary line and suddenly becoming a felon:fire:

A big thank you from a "Ross Alumni"

Just finished John's class last night. Great experience and a great value seeing what some outfits are charging for this class. Lots of good information, he must have passed around a dozen or more different hand guns. Went to great lengths to explain the statutes and give solid real life examples. The shooting exercise was very enjoyable and the extra bar-b-que helped the group get to know each other and feel comforatable. So I am certificated and patiently awaiting Oct. 13 !

Thanks again John.
