Hope this is the right place for this.

I'm seeing two different styles of newer model Super Grades out there and am wondering why. First there is the model with the black tip on the forearm and a black Pachmyer(sp?) pad. Most of these have a 26" barrel. Lately I've been seeing a few that do not have the black tip on the forearm, and have a red colored recoil pad. I have yet to see one with a 26" barrel, they all seem to have 24" barrels. I have one of the black tipped versions in a 7mmSTW, I believe it is 4 or 5 years old. On Winchester's web site they show the same black tipped and black padded stock. Both of these by the way are advertised as CRF.

My question is, are the SGs without the black pad and forearm tip newer than the ones with? Or the other way around? Or are there two different levels of SGs? Or.....?

Thanks in advance.
