Model 94 wouldn't cycle shell into chamber

I have an old (pre 64) Winchester 94 .32 win special. I was shooting the other day and the last shell would not load into the chamber at all. I tried over and over pulling it out, putting it back in the mag and then cycling again, it still just got stuck. Anything I should look for in particular? I'm sure it needs a good cleaning, do you have any reference for disassembly, or is this something I should have a gunsmith look at? All I've ever done in the past is spray the heck out of it with gun scrubber without taking it apart. Thanks for your help, I tried searching but it ignores '94' so it makes it kind of tough.

This may not be much help, but my first guess is it just might be that particular loaded round. I had that happen once years ago. It was a Remington Core-lokt 170 grain. The bullet and neck were crooked (not "paralell" to the rest of the case. Set that round off to the side and check it against others in the box that do cycle.
That one crooked cartridge is the only failure to feed (of many hundreds) in my #94. Mine's a 1949 baby that Dad bought in 1962 for $44. Hey, have you tried the new Hornady Leverevolution in yours yet? I read an article on it but haven't seen or bought any.

I think that 32winspl nailed it. I once had a round that wouldn't chamber in my Marlin .30-30. I put that shell aside, and checked it after I got home.

There was a visible 'ding' near the base, and the shell was bent a trifle...not something you would notice on a casual glance, but it was there.

Ok, I'm almost positive that's it. It was the last one I had so I couldn't really compare it or try another. I bought a ziplock bag full of random shells at a gun show and this one one of them. Last time I do that. I can't find the leverevolutions anywhere online. Midway lists them as expected to be available on Mar. 17th. I'm going to check then. I've never had a lever gun before this one.

I've had that happen in a 30-30 when a re-load was not seated deep enough, making the round a little too long. It was more that I didn't want to force it into the grooves, and there was an obvious resistance.

Were you shooting reloads?

Probably reloads, I bought them at a gunshow, unboxed. Shoulda known better! But I was just using them for plinking, I did know better than to take them out hunting.

You really need to watch out for this.. You would not believe the stories told at gunsmith's shops and emergency rooms that start with that sentence.

I had a problem with my good ole stainless Rossi .357. My last round of ammo I had would only go about halfway into the chamber. After many tries and testing other ammo, it turned out to be a broken chunk of brass left in the chamber. One of the .38spl rounds I had fired had lost almost half its case in the chamber. I had to pull a .38 lead bullet and force it down the bore, muzzle end first to dislodge the broken shell.

Don't hold your breath waiting for leverrevolutions in .32 Win. There are so few people shooting .32 Wins these days, its probably not worth it for them to make that cal. I bought a set of dies and a friend gave me a box of .32 bullets, so I'm good to go for awhile.

I hunt just up the road from there at my father-in-law's farm in New Era (the road between New Albany & Wyalusing)!!

My M94 (.30-30) doesn't like the LeveRevolution ammo... I get my best groups with 150gr Federal Power Shok's...

I had problems with the last round feeding, I would up having to change the mag tube spring and the follower (not expensive), but, hopefully yours will be just ammo related and it won't cost you anything...
