first off I am new and just wanted to say hi:D .... second I inherited a model 94 last year from my father which is a .375 and I do not really know much about that any info on that would be great I really enjoy shooting it so after hearing about Winchester stopping production of the model 94 I figured it was time to get another so.. purchased a .357 yesterday now my question with this one is also about ammo I do not really know much about this caliber can someone lead me in the right direction mostly will be for target/plinking also I someday would like a handgun in this ammo and was wondering about having a stockpile of dual purpose .357 ammo? any info at all would be great thanks:confused:

I think you will enjoy your new rifle. It should be able to use regular .357 ammunition, and, I beleive, 38 specials as well. The 38 special and the 357 are nearly the same cartridge, the 357 is a tenth of an inch longer. While you can shoot 38 specials in 357 firearms, the reverse is not true. The 357 is loaded to much higher pressure than the 38 specials.

Assume you don't reload... yet.....therefore get a few boxes of 357 ammunition from one of the prominent manufacturers (Remington, Federal, etc.) and spend an afternoon at a shooting range getting to know your new friend.:)

You might want to try some 38's as well.

Ya, my dad reloaded all of the stuff that he shot, he just never got a chance to tell me how to go about doing it. But I think its something that I would really enjoy I think it will help a lot with the .375 big bore that I have too because I am not sure where to even get the ammo
