Hi Dorryn. I didn't mean to sound snappy about the type of hat--just correcting the name.
As to why they aren't sold, it's because they typically have low-volume sales. At one point, I managed merchandise for a manufacturer. This included apparel, such as hats and visors. Keeping inventory of anything that doesn't sell quickly is a pain in the budget. Visors sold, in volume, about 10% that of hats. If 90% of your merchandise customers prefer hats, and ~8% will buy a hat when a visor is not available, there isn't much incentive to keep your capital locked in an inventory of visors.
Correia may have a different experience, though. Different markets like different styles of apparel. Perhaps you can talk him into purchasing a small amount the next time he does an apparel order, and see how well they sell.
