Mongol/Eastern Russian armor vs modern street weapons

Forgetting for a moment how rediculous one would look if you wore a padded gambeson and this:

and started walking down main street, how protected would you be against commonly encoutered non gun weapons like:

1) Hypodermic needle/syringe?
2) Switchblade?
3) improvised club directed to the body?
4) machete?
5) kitchen cleaver?

For the purposes of discussion, assume that the protected areas of the torso are attacked.
